DISCOVERING CHURCH MEMBERSHIP

This newcomer's class presents a basic introduction of biblical principles to find out what it means to be a member of our church family. We take you step by step through the process of the new birth, all the way through some of the essential principles necessary for your spiritual growth. Our goal is to see every member of our church family become a minister. You will learn about the privileges as well as the responsibilities of membership.
 

DISCIPLESHIP 1

Discipleship 1 is all about learning how to walk with the Lord on a daily basis and preparing you to minister the word of God to others. Most often, D-1 takes place on a personal, one on one level with men teaching men, and women teaching women. Occasionally, as the need dictates, couples may go through D-1 together.
 

  • Consider these questions as you prepare to enroll in Discipleship 1:
  • Do YOU know YOUR purpose for life?
  • Are YOU growing in YOUR faith?
  • Do YOU have what it takes to finish YOUR course?
  • Do YOU want to go deeper in YOUR relationship with God?

 

  • We have 4 goals in Discipleship 1:
  • To establish YOU in the Word of God
  • To establish YOU in the Fellowship of Other Christians
  • To establish YOU in the Structure of the Local Church
  • To establish YOU in the Work of the Ministry


The combination of the lessons and time spent with your mentor will help you in the areas of information, communication, participation, and demonstration.

DISCIPLESHIP 2

Discipleship 2 is a detailed, 9 month classroom study that will assist the believer in growing into maturity in Jesus Christ. A successful completion of Discipleship 1 is a pre-requisite for this course.

 

  • There are 4 aspects to Discipleship 2:
  • Understanding YOUR Spiritual Growth and Development - Provides the Christian with an understanding of the process of discipleship, locating his or her own position in that process, and learning to cooperate with God for further growth and development.
  • Understanding YOUR Walk with God
    Provide the Christian with an understanding of the elements of consistent daily victory in the Christian walk with the challenge to live life in the fullness of God's power.
  • Understanding YOUR Bible
    Provide the Christian with the proper truth and tools to facilitate a life-long study of the Bible.
  • Understanding YOUR Spiritual Gifts
    Provide the Christian with an understanding of spiritual gifts, discovering and using his or her own gifts in the local church.
